Discover how to salvage a bad morning and turn it into a monstrously good day.
Have you ever wondered why certain people seem to look, feel, and behave differently from most of us?
They are:
- happy
- confident
- upbeat
Why is it that certain people seem to be strong, motivated, positive-minded, and clear-headed?
You can all but see them walking on sunshine day in and day out, while others are much more susceptible to downcast moods and attitudes.
These excessively happy and motivated people aren’t any different from everyone else.
They’re not superhuman.
And they aren’t invincible to pessimistic moments and bad moods.
What they are, is more proactive about controlling, managing, and cleaning out their bad emotions.
They’re not reactive to their emotions.
Whenever frustration, irritation, anxiety, stress, or depression sets in, they reach into their tool deck of secrets for staying happy and motivated.
And they transform their bad moods back into good moods.
So the following are four secrets you can use to transform your bad morning.
#1- Read 10 pages of a self-development book!
Few things can offer you a more energizing and stimulating boost to your day than reading motivational or non-fiction literature.
If I had to single out one daily habit that can radically transform your life for the positive, it would be reading.
It is often said that readers are leaders.
That isn’t a mistake.
According to a recent article by Business Insider, “85% of rich people read two or more education, career-related, or self-improvement books per month, compared to 15% of poor.”
That can’t be just a coincidence.
Not all successful people practice exactly the same habits.
But reading is probably the only habit that almost every high-achiever shares in common.
Reading offers you more than just knowledge.
It improves your memory, boosts your concentration and focus abilities, improves your writing skills, reduces stress, and broadens your vocabulary.
It helps you focus and provides instant access to solutions for any problem you could struggle with.
Because reading and learning about situations that already happened to others can open your eyes to the fact that there is no challenge in your life that someone else hasn’t already overcome!
Any unfortunate situation that’s affecting your personal or professional life negatively can be solved through reading.
Reading can give you the insight needed to solve or improve any painful problem that you’re struggling with.
It can help fix your problems and give you the skills, strategies, tactics, and insights needed to elevate your career to the next level.
Reading is the key to elevating yourself from where you currently are to where you want to be.
#2- Use the gym to elevate your mood, energy, & mindset!
Have you ever been frustrated about something, hit the gym, and forty minutes later, totally forgot what the heck you were worried about in the first place?
This is a common experience for those of us that hit the gym, go for runs, or exercise regularly.
Getting a physical workout is a proven way to turn your mood around.
Daily exercise at the gym, on the field, or on the track can provide you with a powerful cocktail of anxiety release, depression relief, and mental clarity,
That positive mood, happiness, and confidence are because of the endorphins released while working out.
Hitting the gym pumps all kinds of feel-good chemicals through your mind.
And this isn’t just a quick fix.
Taking a quick break from your work to get that daily pump in is a bad mood remedy that can dramatically improve your attitude for your entire day or night.
According to a Happify infographic about “The Link Between Exercise And Happiness,” the positive mood benefits of just 20 minutes of exercise can last for up to 12 hours.
So if you’re looking to turn your bad morning around, taking a quick hour-long break from your desk for some exercise should definitely be in your tool deck.
#3- Fill your mind with motivational content!
With dealing with our emotions, most of us aren’t proactive enough.
We complain about feeling low, frustrated, unhappy, unsatisfied, irritated, or miserable.
But we rarely take proactive steps to manage, control, and eliminate these negative emotions.
We make the mistake of assuming that there’s nothing we can do to fix our mood.
But it’s best to keep in mind that nothing is impossible!
As someone who has been through lots of difficulties mentally, I firmly believe that there’s no downbeat mood that can’t be fixed.
We can solve every frustration.
And one of the most powerful weapons against a downbeat attitude or mood is listening to, watching, and absorbing motivational and self-development content.
Spending time throughout your day soaking in the words, wisdom, and advice of motivational speakers and content producers can be one of the most life-changing habits you’ll ever take up.
I started listening to and watching motivational audio and videos in 2014.
And since then, I’ve written a book, launched a blog, stayed sober for over two years, and kicked off a burgeoning career in real estate.
Soaking in motivational content has been one of the most important keys in making that happen.
There is a trick to staying motivated at all times.
And that trick is filling your mind with positive content—like speeches by Les Brown, Tony Robbins, Jim Rohn, and Eric Thomas—at all times.
Once you soak in the motivational content, you won’t be able to go a day without the boost that it adds to your day.
Since you are here, checking out this positive content, you have already taken the first step!
#4- Find a quiet spot and meditate!
Not much can turn around your mindset, attitude, mood, and emotions like meditation can.
Transcendental Meditation—my personal favorite—is widely practiced by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Russell Simmons, Miguel, Katy Perry, Hugh Jackson, and Ray Dalio for a reason.
Meditation is a hobby that scores of highly accomplished people practice twice a day—for good reason.
Inside each of our heads is a limitless supply of fulfillment, peace, clarity, and tranquility that most of us lose touch with as get older and deal with the daily struggles of life.
Transcendental meditation reconnects us with that infinite ocean of pure happiness, peace, compassion, clarity, and creativity that we otherwise have limited access to.
Negative emotions like stress, frustration, pessimism, anxiety, and depression cut us off from our true nature—which is true happiness.
Transcendental Meditation puts you back in touch with that unlimited supply of positivity and happiness.
What happens over time is, practicing meditation becomes like wearing a suit of bulletproof armor that protects you from negative feelings and emotions.
Don’t get me wrong.
Becoming a meditator doesn’t make your life perfect.
But whenever tragedy strikes, find a quiet spot, sit back down for 10 or 20 minutes, and reconnect with your best nature.
So meditation is a phenomenal way to get it done if you’re looking to turn around a bad morning.
Never let a bad morning ruin your day
So there you have it.
It all comes down to being proactive.
Don’t be reactive.
Don’t just react to all the negative emotions that take root in your mind.
The goal is to take a proactive role in molding, shaping, managing, and controlling your mood, mentality, mindset, and life.
Don’t let a bad morning, a bad mood, or a frustrating problem destroy your entire day.
When negativity strikes, reach into your tool deck and decide to either read self-development literature, do some exercise, fill your mind with motivational content, or meditate for at least 10 minutes!
Control your day.
Don’t let your bad morning control you.
Always remember that you are in charge of your emotions—not the other way around.
