Cultivate Success and Authentic Happiness in Your Life

I’m about to let you in on one of the biggest keys to the pursuit of success: who you are on the inside makes an enormous difference in how you view your success.
Research shows that our perception is the key to whether or not we feel like we have what it takes to make us happy.
Regardless of what we have.
In other words, you can have all the riches in the world—a loving relationship, an amazing talent, or a bounty of good fortune—and your mindset will dictate whether you’re happy about your circumstances.
You may think increasing your income, lowering your work hours and finding a soul mate will increase your success.
However, those things are ultimately only placebos.
The most effective thing you can do to increase your success is to cultivate a sense of inner peace.
Start by engaging in self-reflection, gratitude, creative practice, and personal development.
No one can create real wealth without these things.
Personal development is a lifelong process.
Here are three things you can do to support your journey to success and allow you to cultivate a sense of inner peace.
Get Really In-Tune With How You Feel
Many people go through their lives with a limited sense of how they feel.
We’re not taught emotional development in school.
Most people don’t learn about it at home, either.
As a result, we lose contact with one of our most powerful means of creating genuine success.
If you’re not sure what you’re feeling, a simple exercise is to stop for five minutes each day and imagine an experience that evoked an intense feeling.
Pay attention to the sensations you feel in your body.
These sensations and your feelings are directly linked.
They work as a road map to help you develop your emotional awareness.
Learn What Motivation Means to You
Much of the time, people act in ways dictated by their prior experience.
These prior experiences often stop people from seeing new opportunities and creating something new.
Look at your current circumstance and see if there are similarities between it and other experiences in your life.
Knowing why you’re reacting or responding the way you are helps put aside your predispositions.
Keep Track of Your Goals and Successes
If you don’t know what you want for yourself or what you consider success, you will not know when you will get there.
Since we automatically adjust to our new “normal”, it’s easy to keep chasing something that eludes us.
In order to keep your eyes set on what you want, spend some time writing out your goals for the next year to keep you focused and on track.
Defining your feelings, learning what motivates you, and keeping track of your goals is a great place to start.
Our mindsets play such a critical role in how we view the world.
